20-25% Off ETSY SALE and an Etsy Treasury!

I will be closing my etsy shop for a little bit while I deal with this "new journey" thing I've got going on.  So I thought I would have a sale to make room for new items when I reopen in late October/early November.
This sale is open to anyone that finds out about the sale here on my blog.  I am not advertising it on my Etsy Shop page.

Maybe you would be interested in some of these . . .

  • This part is important!  Let me know you found out about the sale here on my blog
  • I will refund 20% off the price of each item you purchase (not including s&h) and put it back into your PayPal account

Turn Your Printers On!

Aaron Brothers is having a sale, and through August 19th they've got some good coupons that can be used as well.  HERE THEY ARE.

So why Aaron Brothers you ask?  Well, I have found that Aaron Brothers has the most comprehensive selection of Tim Holtz products at any of the chain stores around - at least in MY neck of the woods.

All mixed media art stuff is on sale at 25% off - that includes Tim's products!

Yes, Michael's and JoAnn's carry a few of his products, but it's hit or miss.  AND, check THIS out.  I found these Idea-ology Word Keys at Aaron Brothers - a FRACTION of the cost they were at Michael's!

And (things that make you go hummmmm) I thought that Aaron Brothers was a wholly owned subsidiary of Michaels Stores, Inc. ?

But whatever the reason for the difference in some of the prices of identical items are, I guess WE make out if we know about it right? :)

On another note . . . did I tell you that I have to have one of THESE?!
Well, check out the videos that Tim released on his Blog today!  September/October can't get here SOON enough!! *sigh*

32nd Annual Sunwood Street Faire Garage Sale

Put this on your list of things to do this weekend if you don't have plans already.  It's the Annual Sunwood Street Faire Garage Sale!  This garage sale is held the last full weekend in July - both Saturday & Sunday.
Every year for the past 31 years, the neighborhood near the intersection of El Toro and Toledo Way in Lake Forest has held one of the largest garage sales I've ever been to here in South Orange County, CA.

Thousands of people locally, from other communities and even from out of state come to this event!
There are only 237 homes in the tract but there are usually 125-150 participants over the weekend - with the majority of people on Saturday.  I will be there on Saturday.  One year I went on Sunday and just about everything was already gone.  See the photo below?
Look at THIS!  Yep, I've GOT to go Saturday morning!
I didn't see this guy the last time I went.  I remember a mother and her girls selling homemade tamales though . . .
Gotta go pick out something comfortable to wear and the bag I will carry that can double as a purse.  I think I'll stop and get a bunch of $1 and $5 bills as well.  The sale starts at 6a.m. which isn't a problem for me since I'm up every day around 4:30am anyway!  It's good to be a morning person :)

Memorial Day - Closed Mouths Don't Get Fed Etsy Sale!

I'm "borrowing" an idea from Carmen Torbus who is having a pay-what-you-can weekend for her Spill It Revisited on-line workshop.

Since I don't have any on-line workshops, I'm going to offer you anything from my
Etsy Shop today through midnight Monday (Memorial Day).
Here's how it will work:

Let me know what you would like to purchase from my shop. It can be one item or several combined

Make me a reasonable offer via e-mail (include shipping & handling in your offer)

And if your offer doesn't make me say "what the heck was she/he thinking?!" then I will e-mail you back and give you the thumbs up.

You can then pay me through PayPal and select the "gift" option so it doesn't cost either of us any additional monies

Pretty cool, huh?  So what are you waiting on?  The sale ends at midnight Memorial Day!
PSS  Be sure to check out Carmen's generous offer as WELL!

Friday & Saturday Happenings

So today started out with a drive to Arcadia to teach a class for "The Day Job" . . .
Once I was back in my neighborhood earlier this evening, I got a text from Lezlei (sil/bff/transplant from CA to TX) reminding me of the April 9th Tuesday Morning nationwide store sale.

I had first learned about this sale on the Tim Holtz Yahoo Group I belong to, but I didn't put the date in my calendar, so I am soooo glad that Lezlei reminded me! . . .  . . .
Oooooooh, DOUBLE packs of Tim Holtz Idealogy Grungeboard for $7.99!  Oh yeah . . . I picked up Basics Dots, Basics Swirls, (2) Stripes Elements, Shapes Swirls, and Stripes Digits & Punctuation . . .
I picked up a couple of the Tim Holtz embossing powder tins for 7.99 each and there was even a little random mini tin on a shelf for 1.99 that I picked up . . .
Thanks for the reminder Lezlei!

When I got home from Tuesday Morning, this was at my front door . . .
Remember the Amy Hanna book I won over on Jenny Doh's blog?  Yep, well it arrived today :).  Here are a couple of pages inside the book . . .
Ooooooh I can hardly wait to sink my teeth into THIS book!

Tomorrow I'm getting up early to go to a garage sale in Nancy Jamar's (owner of Gilding the Lily) neighborhood in Fullerton.  Hoping to find some good vintage ephemera there!

Saturday evening I will be celebrating my friend, Linda Bucci's birthday at her home along with her husband - Bob and friend - Martha.
Whatever YOU do this weekend, make it art-filled and fun!

This is another one of my "For Bloggers Only" sales. Today, I am offering this approximately 13 ½ inch porcelain Biedermeire doll. We'll call her Miss Biedermeire for now.  You can name her whatever you'd like if she becomes yours.

Miss Biedermeire has a porcelain (china) head with black painted hair, hands and feet.  Her eyes are blue and her lips are red.

This lady wears a beautifully sewn red dress that is trimmed in white lace with a matching hood with a fitting bow with red feather.   Her neck and waist is tied with a black velvet ribbon. She wears cotton underclothing including a petticoat and pantaloons.

The porcelain legs include black heeled boots that have a chip on each toe. The porcelain head is in excellent condition with spider-like cracks inside that you can't feel when rubbing your fingers across her face.
