Splash Award, RAK and New and Unfinished Projects

Awwww, Angela over at Creative Soulful & Sexy has awarded me the Splash Award.  This is an award that is given to alluring, amusing, bewitching, impressive and inspiring blogs.  WOW!, now THAT'S an honor! . . .
Thanks Ang!

And look at what I received in the mail from Marilyn Gallas of  Studio 274 - tablemate on my recent cruise.  It's a little RAK (Random Act of Kindness) book of memories of our cruise . . .

Sweet huh? I thought so TOO - Thanks Marilyn!

My creative juices have been just chomping at the bit to get out all WEEK!  I'm thinking I'm going to have to come up with a project inspired by THIS

And I need to complete the project I started on the cruise in one of the Wendy Vecchi workshops.  I think it was intended to be an Art Inspiration Board, but I've decided to make mine a "Bucket List".  Once I've completed designing my board, I'm going to start gathering photos of things to pin on my board that I want to do before I "kick the bucket".
Have you always wanted to do something but thought you were too old now to do it?   Did you know that Grandma Moses, a self-taught artist from upstate New York who first came to public attention at the age of 80, created 1600 works of art before her death at the age of 101?!

I also want to start making some more of those shadow boxes this weekend.  AND I want to get back to my KC Willis workshops and . . .

I always feel like if I write down what I plan to do and put it out here on my blog, that will encourage me to get started and even finish whatever it is.  You know, sort of like write it down and make it happen?  Yeah, like that!

What are YOU working on this weekend???

My New Friend

I have a new friend.  My new friend's name is Eileen, and she has a blog over at Art Saves Lives.

Eileen and I met on-line just before "The Cruise" and then ultimately, if only too briefly, on the cruise.  Since returning though, I have become a follower of her blog (and vice versa), so now we can keep in touch and see what we're both "up to".  Don't you just love the internet? *smiles*

On Monday morning, Eileen presented me with the above "Best Blog Award".  Now wasn't that sweet?  Thank you so much Eileen!

I'm a Queen!

Awwwwwwww, what a nice award to win this beautiful Memorial Day! Bridgette, my new Glitterfest friend, sent this to me this afternoon. Bridgette's blog is Bella Luna Arts, and if you missed my Glitterfest post, you need to stop by and check out her artwork. She's the Gourd Princess *smiles*.

The award originated over at Cassandra's blog - My Artful Adventures, and she is having a REALLY cool giveaway as well! I've already checked it out and have entered. You might want to do the same.

Thank you sooooo much Bridgette. I'm blushing. Can you see me through your computer screen? *smiles*

I bestow this award to Lezlei and Mary Ann because you two ladies are very special to me and Queens in your own right. Love you both!

X O X O

PS I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day holiday today!
PSS Don't forget to enter the "Show me your Tatts" contest *smiles*

An Award? For Me? Awwwwwwwww

Good morning artful people out there in blogland!

I woke up this morning to an award bestowed upon me and my little blog by Susan of Brokn Heart Art! Susan nominated 3 artists who have given her gracious feedback and frequent inspiration. I was one of the 3 she nominated. Awwwwwwwwwwww, I'm blushing - can you see me?

I have visited other artist's blogs and have seen where they have been awarded the Kreativ-Award as well. I don't want to saturate the blog waves, so I'm going to choose just one recipient. I've chosen to give this award to my sil-bff who just recently started her blog. Lezlei Ann Young, of Breath of Art, I hereby honor you with your first ever blog award! :)

Won't you please take a moment to visit Lezlei's new blog and give her some love today? Sometimes we all just need that little "nudge" to keep us motivated and moving forward.

Much love to you all this morning. May you have an art-filled Sunday!

Marie? for Me? Merci! and some LATE BREAKING NEWS!

What an honor it is to receive the Marie Antoinette Real Person Award by Kim Parkinson of Just Kim. Thank you Kim, for ending my year with such a prestigious blog award!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my producer. and all of my writers . . . oh wait, sorry, that's a different award ceremony!

Ok, so of course some rules came with this blog award, but since it IS a "REAL PERSON" award, I must be true to my REAL self, correct?

So "off with their heads" . . . I mean, forget the rules. I'll follow most of them, but I'm making up a few new rules. I've put the logo on this post and I've linked to Kim since she's the one that thought enough of my blog to honor me with this award. However, I'm supposed to nominate at least 7 blogs for this award as well. YIKES! Where do I start?!

I know, how about I nominate everybody that is reading this post? Because hey, if you're reading this, then you're a REAL PERSON TOO! *smiles*

So, feel free to grab Marie, place her on your blog, tell everyone that I gave you this award and then LET THEM EAT CAKE!

LATE BREAKING NEWS!! I just learned today that Rhonna Farrer of Rhonna Designs is having a HUGE Give-Away on her Blog! You can win your choice of 209 digital kits or fonts You HAVE heard of Two Peas in a Bucket right? Oooooh, what I wouldn't give to be a winner of THIS wonderful give-away!

1 Vote, 2 RAK's, 1 Contest and an Award

Seemed to me like a good day for voting . . .

So that's what I did!

I voted for "THAT one" marked below . . .

and don't worry, I can check on-line to be sure my vote got counted! I just didn't want to take the chance of the polls being overly crowded next Tuesday.

NOW FOR 1 RAK and a CONTEST . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Who made this journal?????

A friend of mine (Sharon) at work went to an arts and crafts event last weekend in Claremont, CA at The Village . Sharon bought the beautiful, handmade journal that you see above and RAKed it to me. I just LOVE the handmade watercolored papers used for the front and back covers!

The first person that can identify the journal maker, will receive up to a 15.00 item (including s&h), of their choice, from my Etsy shop. The contest will end on Saturday at midnight, and a winner chosen (again by the teenage man-child) on Sunday morning, November 2nd.

Visit my etsy shop, then come back and leave a comment on this post to tell me what you would like if you win, and (of course) who made the journal. That's it!

Here are some clues to help you along: First name starts with an "S", 1969, resides in Southern California, May 7th, October 1st

GOOD LUCK!

Another RAK . . .

Earlier this week I was (again) RAKed (Random Act of Kindness) with the UTEE gargoyle you see above.

I was visiting Kim Parkinson at Just Kim, and stumbled upon a post that had the cutest gargoyles made out of UTEE. I'm a big fan of the melting pot and UTEE (taught a lot of those classes!), so of course when I saw Kim's creations, I had to e-mail her for additional information.

Well, to make a long story short, the next thing I know, my own personal gargoyle was sitting in my mailbox!

Thank you sooooooo much Kim. I haven't named my gargoyle yet, but he/she is watching over me as I sleep at night.

Post Script: Kim is an artist and instructor that lives south of Boston, MA and teaches some really cool stuff. If you live in and around that area, you should definitely check out her blog for upcoming classes!

And 1 Award %

Also this week, I received a new blog award from a very talented, on-line friend, Gaby Bee from Colorful Adventures. As the recipient of this award, I have to name 6 things that make me happy. Here are 6:

  1. Talking arts & crafts with a friend over a triple Mexican Mocha Coffee

  2. When the creativity just flows

  3. Shopping!

  4. A clean home

  5. Attending a good convention or workshop

  6. Random Acts of Kindness

I would like to give this award to EVERYONE on my blog list! All of you are so talented and worthy of this award!

Got Love?

NJTomboy from TOMBOY AROUND TOWN has presented me with an I Love Your Blog Award. Thank you sooooo much for the blog love NJT! I am truly honored.

By accepting this award, I have been asked to celebrate and nominate 7 other bloggers for this award as well. And since I'm always up for a celebration of ANY sort, this of course is no exception! I nominate the following blog friends and hope they will join the party:

Mary Ann from A Very Mary Design
Gina from Soul Glo
Lani Kent from Healing Expressions
Mystele from Little Glimpses Studio
Vallen from Queenly Things
Gaby Bee from Colorful Adventures
Karine Ardault over at her self-titled blog Karine Ardault

Inspire and Encourage

As a thank you for being *an encourager*, Mystele at Little Glimpses has presented me with the Brillante Weblog Premio - 2008 award. I would first like to thank Mystele for this award and say that I am truly honored.

There are rules to follow when receiving this award. The rules are to pass this encouragement on to at least 7 other nominees, link to their blogs and leave a message on the blogs of the nominees.

NO PRESSURE TO PARTICIPATE: If this is something you would like to do, you now have the rules. However, if you do not have the time or just don't want to play, there's no problem with that either - I won't be offended!

The envelopes please. My nominees for the Brillante Weblog Premio - 2008 Award goes to . . .

Mary Ann of A Very Mary Design because she always makes me laugh when I'm down and she doesn't even know it half of the time. Mary Ann encourages me to stretch myself in my artwork. She has also been a good *go to* person when I needed business advice. Mary Ann is the best kind of friend a person could have.

Next up, Enzie over at World Market Portraits for always creating beautiful artwork to feast my eyes upon. Her work is fab-u-lous.

Then there's Vallen at Queenly Things. When I feel like I may not be doing enough in the way of cooking, reorganizing, reading, crafting, (you get the picture), I slip over to Vallen's blog. Once I see what she has been doing for the day, I start thinking about trying a new recipe or maybe picking up that book I bought months ago and still haven't read!

Irene Tan from Scrapperlicious for all of the techniques she shares with the blogging community. I don't know where this mother of two small ones finds the time to do all she does! Every time I visit her blog, it is filled with colorful scrapbook pages and/or other projects along with detailed instructions for how to duplicate what she has done.
Deana at JustDeezarts for being *Just Dee*

Don at Fully Flummoxed because he makes art from rusty things! I so love that

And another Don who is a contributor of the Character Corner blog - where I can *get my scripture on*
