Daddy, Granddaddy and E. Lynn Harris

My father passed away 36 years ago.  This is one of my favorite photos of him  taken in Marseilles, France 1945  . . .
My daddy worked hard but loved to party as well.  This photo was taken in Chicago, Illinois "back in the day".  That's my mom to his right and my Godmother to my mom's right . . .
My grandfather passed away 32 days after my daddy.  I soooo miss all of the stories he would tell me.  This is a photo of him in his backyard in Indianapolis, IN . . .

Happy Father's Day to my two favorite men!

In Memoriam:  Today, Author and friend, E. Lynn Harris would have been celebrating his 55th birthday.  Those of you that have been following my blog for awhile may have remembered THIS POST.
paperbag book with miniature book cover tags I made for E. Lynn several years ago now

For so many of us, myself included, Father's Day is for memories, and the ones you shared are precious.
I miss my father very much too.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, 1945, was an eventful day for both of us. Isn't it something when you know you get it right. I did that piece last night before going to bed, just some scrap paper lying around and then I saw the pic of my parents, I just knew it went on there, I like the troublesomeness (sp) of the skies, uneveness of the house, and the hope in their faces.
