Blast From the Past and My Last Workshop in 2010

Have you called and signed up for my Charm Necklace Workshop at Stamp Fever yet?  This will be the last time I teach this workshop in 2010 and the first time I've taught it at Stamp Fever.

Many of you took workshops at Stamp Fever when it was in a much smaller location years ago.  Do you remember the time I taught the beginning soldering class?  It must have been 120 degrees and the power kept going out.  Look how serious everyone looked . . . or maybe everyone was just HOT.  yikes!  Here's a "blast from the past" photo . . .
8 students were in this workhop - 4 each side of the table
Now that Stamp Fever has moved into a much larger location with ample parking, lots of light and is under the new management of Linda Foley, It sure would be nice if I could fill my first workshop and my last for 2010.
Hope to see you on Saturday, December 11th!

Flash Back and Back Again

Several years ago I started teaching rubber stamp/card-making and
mixed media art classes
The first store I ever taught at was The Red Mat in Placentia.  I taught there exclusively for about a year
and then I spread my wings and taught classes at Stamp Fever in Orange,
The ArtBar in Santa Ana,
Stamping Details in Poway,
Gilding the Lily in downtown Fullerton,
The Vintage Emporium in Long Beach,
I've even taught at a few private homes,
Scrappin' in the Hills in Anaheim Hills,
Scrapbooking by Design in Laguna Niguel, Screamin' Susie's in Whittier, La Maison Rustique in Temecula (now The Urban Barn in Escondido),
Whimzy in Old Town Tustin
and a few others along the way that my mind can't recall the names of *sigh*.

Well, earlier last week I received an e-mail from a lady (Linda Foley) that bought Stamp Fever about 18 months ago.  Long story short, Linda saw my name on an old list of instructors for the store and then a couple of people mentioned my name to her.  I went in to meet Linda last weekend and after our meeting, I will be teaching at Stamp Fever again after all these years.
First up:  Charm Necklace Workshop - Saturday, September 25th, noon to 3pm.  You can sign up in the store or by telephone and then pay me directly through PayPal or snail mail.  Need a flyer?  E-mail me.

After the September 25th class, I will be back at Stamp Fever Saturday, October 23rd.  I haven't decided what I will teach yet, but it will definitely involve some rubber stamping *wink wink*

As you stampers are well-aware, there are very few rubber stamp stores around these days.  Let's help keep Stamp Fever on the map.  The store has moved, is much larger and is in a more convenient location than before!  Hope to see some familiar faces and some new ones at a class real soon *smiles*

Flashback to 1968 through 1971

I've created a playlist just for this post. If you have your speakers on already, first go to my playlist in the right-hand column of my blog and click on the pause button. Then click on the play button on the playlist listed below on this post.

Thirty-six of my favorites from 1968-1971. Ahhhhhh, those were the days when you could actually hear and understand what the artist was singing about!

So here's the deal. Ooooooooh this is going to be fun (and funny)! I read about a contest (when I was visiting Connie's blog) that Heather Powers of Humblebeads is having.

The following photos will make more sense to you once you go HERE for the rules. I sure hope you will play along.

Graduation Day - 1971 - Shortridge High School, Indianapolis, IN

Shouldn't I be smiling????
This part is going to be difficult. You're supposed to list 5 of your favorite songs in high school. I've always loved music and can remember sooooo many favorites, but I'll stick to the rules of the contest, and narrow the list down to just 5:

It's Too Late by Carole King
Baby, Baby Don't Cry by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
Rainy Days And Mondays by the Carpenters
I'll Be There by the Jackson 5

La-La Means I Love You by the Delfonics
