Antique Coverless Book Bundles
I saw these on Restoration Hardware's website for $29 a bundle . . .
and I thought, huuummm, $29? I can make those. So with a $1.50 roll of jute and 3 books I found in one of my boxes . . .
I removed the covers and tied the naked books up . . .
Personally, I like mine just as much - or more - than the $29 version. Not sure where they will end up inside, so for now they will remain outside on the table.

I think I'll be going to Friends of the Library next Saturday for their $1 a bag book sale!

I think I like yours better too! I thought we got a good deal getting a bags of books for $5.00 ea from our Friends of the Library sale! Oh well, we still got a good deal and lots of of good books! Have fun at your sale.

Outstanding! Stores like Restoration Hardware and Anthropologie may be rough on the pocketbook, but GREAT for inspiration.

I love how yours look a lot. And to think that many years ago when I cut out all those pages in the books to have the covers that I just put them in the garbage. What a waste that was but of course now I wouldn't do that. I love how they look. Inspiration is everywhere if we only look around us.

I have mixed emotions about these naked books:) I'd love to know the story behind how this trend got started. Artists who use book covers to make purses -- I can understand them "discovering" the beauty of these naked books and wanting to repurpose them as decor. But for a decorator to just come along and say: I'm going to start ripping book covers off and start a new fad....?? How do these things get started? And as perplexed as I am with my emotions unsettled about stripping books, there's no doubt that they look awesome! Who would have thunk it?!:)
