the birthday banner linda put up for me

I had my first birthday celebration at the home of Linda and Bob and Marley Bucci yesterday.
even "Duckie" got in on the birthday celebration!

The festivities started around 2pm with a delicious Bloody Mary made by Linda.  Yuuummmy . . .
Throughout the afternoon hours, Linda brought out a couple of different hors d'oeuvres, but I didn't get any photos for those, because we ate them up so quickly *hee hee*

Linda had been asking me if I would help her set up an etsy shop as well as  update her website.  So yesterday was the day.  Well, at least for the etsy shop.  There's nothing in there yet, but it's all set up.  She doesn't have a blog, so once she is ready for business, I will let you know through mine.

Now back to the birthday festivities!  The rain stopped by the time Bob was ready to put the steaks on the barbecue.  Yep, I had one of the Bucci's fab-u-lous steak dinners for my birthday celebration *smiles*.  No photos of the meal, but I can tell you what we had.  Bbq'd steaks, a delicious hominy dish, drop biscuits, Linda's deeelicious salad with blue cheese and of course, red wine.

Then this . . . Yep, I even had birthday cake with candles! . . . Marley was trying to blow them out before I could :)
Pheww, I beat her to the cake and got to make a wish and blow them out myself . . .
We were going to make Valentine Day cards, but didn't get around to it.  I did give Linda and Bob a beginning Zentangle lesson.  And NO, I didn't force them!  Linda had asked me if I would teach them when I came over *smiles*.

So I packed up some of my atc's to show them as samples and had brought along some of my heart/V-day stamps. They already had the pens needed.

Well, Bob is an Architect by trade and a really good artist to boot, so I was sure he was not going to have one BIT of trouble with Zentangling . . .

And Linda?  Well, she had told me when I first went to that Zentangle workshop last month that she couldn't see herself doing this.  HA!  I bet she gets zen-ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder) just like ME!  She was still zentangling after the lesson was over.  LOL
And as if their friendship alone was not enough of a gift to me, this is the sweet bracelet that I received from the Bucci's for an additional birthday gift . . .
Thank you Linda, Bob and Marley.  I had a wonderful birthday celebration at your home yesterday!

Well, Happy Belated Birthday, girl! Looks like it was awesome! The food sounded great, but when I saw that cake, I had to wipe drool off the keyboard! Scrumpdillyicious! And what a lovely bracelet! What wonderful friends you have, isn't that a blessing!
