Fall Leaves

I spent most of yesterday (Sunday) in my pajamas. Huuuuummmm, I spent most of Saturday in my pajamas as WELL! As I was sitting in my room watching stuff I had dvr'd the past couple of weeks and watching the Lakers basketball game, I pulled out some paper scraps and started cutting them up to make what I call paper mulch. I thought it would be cool to use for texture in artwork.

After bagging up my mulch, I started cutting squares from paper and bagging those by color. Then I thought I would do a collage. Strange, I know, but I started thinking about Fall trees at Butler University in Indiana. I cut out a bunch of leaves and bagged those. Then I thought about the Creative Every Day theme for June being "Sound", and could hear my feet crunching the dropped leaves as I walked through the campus. Mind you, I no longer live in Indianapolis, and it's been YEARS since I've been home in the Fall taking walks on Butler's campus!

Isn't it funny how things come to mind out of nowhere??????

Yes it does seem to happen to me too. Fall in Mn. and all those wonderful colors and the leaves. Also the fragrances of Hawaii and the salt water in the San Juans. All these trigger good memories. Sharon

Sherry, this is beautiful. I can almost hear the leaves crunching. What kind of base did you use for the collage? Love the colors and texture I see.

Hooray! This turned out NICE! I tried myself once at it & it just didn't look right... There's some fine work out there from artist specializing - or rather heartening - this medium! Congrats, it looks great. Whatd'cha gonna do with it?! Cheers, Julie
