Breaking the Block

When I have a creative block, I usually make backgrounds on wood, canvas or atc-size boards and then just put them aside until the block is broken.

After I finish my housework today, I'm going to (hopefully) break the block and do something with these.

I found some turp papers that I made well over a year ago that I'm thinking of using on some of these backgrounds. They FINALLY no longer smell like turpentine! . . .Speaking of turp paper . . . have any of you used Citrosolve instead of turpentine to make these papers? Does it work just as well as the turpentine does on the National Geographic magazine pages?

And I've got some serendipity acrylic papers (paper towels I wipe my paint brushes on, fold, wipe again, fold, wipe again, etc.) that have been waiting to be used as well . . .
I sure hope my creative block is broken - and not my BACK, after the cleaning I have to do. HA!

PS The sale is still on for all blogger buddies. Click on on this post for the details.

OOOO Sherry! Your turp papers are gorgeous! Never heard of them before. I know you'll do something fantastic for them. I was wondering if you used bookboard to make your ATCs at the last RSC. I love mine so much! I grabbed (heehee) the Saint and Asian. So pretty.

Thank you Linda. I use recycled matboard that I get out of the trash at "the day job" in the Marketing department. They throw away these large advertising posters that have peel off signs on them. I take them over to the paper cutter and get busy! LOL

Sherry, Those look like FUN! Hey, my daughter is giving a recital (opera) at the Merc in Temecula on August 16, if you feel like visiting something like that. Her name is Stephanie Scarcella. She is an opera major at the Boston Conservatory.

CitraSolve is mainly successful on Natl Geos that are printed AFTER 2004. Somewhere along there they changed the ink formula. And the pages in the front/back where most of the ads are do NOT work as well as the main pages.

That's great that you have something you do to get yourself out of your block that is still related to what you DO. I tend to sort beads when I get blocked.
