Be Kind - Don't Laugh!

Ok, so yesterday was the Keely (Benkey) Reichman workshop at the home of my friend Linda Bucci.
Ah, no, the dolls above are NOT my creations.  These are some of Keely's dolls that she brought to show us for inspiration.
And the dolls above?  Ah, no, none of those are mine EITHER.  These are more of the Keely doll creations.
And don't you just love these two all decked out in their wool outfits that were sewn and/or knitted?
We each chose a bottle with a head of eyes.  I chose the one on the left with the brown eyes in the front.
This is Keely getting the workshop started.  Keely's mom and sister were in one of my workshops at Linda's home recently and I've got to say, Keely is just as sweet as her mom and sister!
Bridgette (left) and Martha listening intently to the instructions.  I was so happy that my friend Bridgette from Bella Luna Arts was able to come.  She just makes me smile every time I see her.
Isn't this one cute?  Ahhhh, no, it's not mine
and look at THIS guy! . . .ahhh, no, still not the head I sculpted
Yeah, RIGHT . . . you didn't REALLY think this one was MINE did you?! LOL
1st batch of heads going in for a quick dry.  PS The one with the long nose?  That's my buddy Marilyn Goodman's doll head.  You can only IMAGINE the comments that were made about that nose in the workshop *hee hee*
Here "Blue Dog" is all finished.
and above is Bridgette's Blue Moon getting finishing touches
Linda B and her sculpted green headed doll
and I just loved Martha's Mexican doll created from the following mask inspiration . . .
Ok, so hold on.  And remember the title of this blog post where I ask that you "be kind-don't laugh!" . . .
Yep, that's my doll head before painting and there he is on the right with a couple of friends all painted and ready to . . . not sure what he's ready for!  LOL  My friend Linda said he looks like he's about to cry. And she asked me if I sculpted him that way.  I told her no, but now that I think about it, I think that's what I'll tell other people when they ask!  LOL  I'll say "oooh yes, that's the look I was going for".

I'm sitting here right now just laughing my head off because I was sending Lezlei (my doll-making sil/bff) photos of my progress via my cell phone yesterday and she was all impressed (at least that's what I thought).

And then I painted the lips, took a photo, hit "send" and the response back was, and I quote . . . "Roflmao...mr bill lips!"  Can you believe that?  My best friend wrote that!  HEY! I can hear you laughing through my computer people!

But not to be defeated, I am going to try making another head in the comfort of my own home without judging eyes and snickering comments this morning.  Well, at least only from myself *hee hee*.

I had a wonderful day yesterday with old friends and some new ones.  And to top the evening off, Martha made a fab-u-lous pasta dish and salad and Bob and Linda and Martha and I sat under the night skies talking and laughing and just having a good ole time.  Thank you my friends.  You're the best!  x o x o

What a blast you ladies had! And talk about talent-- holy cats, if I tried to make one of those, it would look like a potato. I love your little guy-- he looks kind and thoughtful, and the phrase "Mr. Bill" never once entered my mind.

Now, THAT, was a very cute post! I loved reading about the class and also seeing my friend, Bridgette, there as well.
