How to Move Past a Creative Block on a Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday I had a "creative block".  I posted this fact on FaceBook and was told to look through art books, past projects, surf blogs, and two people suggested that I get out and "take a walk".

When I put out a question to Blogland or FaceBook-land, I really listen to the responses, so I got out today and went to Balboa Island for the Art Walk.  This is the event I blogged about on May 4th that my friend Linda Bucci was a part of along with about 90 other artists.  Here are a few photos I snapped. . .
Click on the photo above.  Nice white yacht back there, huh?

One of Linda's mannequins taking in the scenery
See that dog in the photo above?  He/she dug a hole (just like the kids were doing!) and then got comfortable in it.  There were several of us just standing there watching him/her for the longest.  TOO cute!
Music along the boardwalk
The event was right on the beach!
On my way to Starbucks to get some java to warm up
Stopped at this really cool store called Art for the Soul on my way back from CandlEssence where I'm getting some candles made! (Cinnamon and Clove mix). . . ummmmmmm).  Linda sells some of her jewelry there too)
Walking back to my car, I found this feather.  I have no idea what it's from, but I already know what I'm going to use it for - at least a part of it.  It's 11" long!
Stopped at the above sushi bar once I was back in my neighborhood.  Hey, gotta keep with the theme of the day right? Beach . . .fish

I never saw the sun come out today, but I have to say it was still a very good day!  What about YOU . . . how was YOUR day today?

Beautiful! Butterflies entertained me in my garden by chasing each other round and about, while I trimmed and trained and got dirt under my nails. Great day!

Sounds like a perfect day. I spent a lazy Sunday morning drinking coffee and reading.
Then a short walk that made me happy, then back home where I spent the rest of the day working on journal pages. Which made me VERY happy.

Thank you for sharing your day at Balboa Island, Sherry! **sigh** What a wonderful place. Looks like you had a nice day away from the studio, and I'm sure there were a lot of laughs along the way. Hugs, Terri xoxo

I had such fun "doing" the art walk with you....it must have been a great day (even if the sun was shy).

A thoroughly delightful area and I loved seeing all your pics!

(Your choice of candle scent is identical to mine!)
