My friend and artist Jacki Long will be teaching her Rip Roaring Collage workshop this Saturday, May 15th from 1pm to 3:30pm at The ARTbar in the Santa Ana Artist Village. The address is 207 N. Broadway, underground, Suite B6b and the workshop fee is $39.
You can reserve your spot in Jacki's workshop by calling The ARTbar directly at (714) 558-2445. However, The ARTbar's business hours are Friday 12-4, Saturday 12-6 and Sunday 2-6, so you'll probably have to leave a message that you want to enroll and then be sure to leave a number where you can be reached.
Using the colors found on various papers and in magazines, you will create a multi-media collage assemblage by tearing and layering these papers. This fast-paced workshop is just sooooo much fun!
Jacki gives each student a complimentary packet of specialty papers to be used in class or to take home after the workshop.
Bring a stretched canvas, canvas board or masonite the size you want your collage to be - 8" x 8" and 12" x 12" have been pretty popular in past workshops. You will need a foam brush and Gel Medium or Decoupage. An apron and rubber gloves can be a good addition to bring as well.
If you have additional questions or would like to see more of Jacki's work, please contact her directly via e-mail at jlonginc@pacbell.net

I love that style of collage, and now, once again, am wondering why such a workshop has to be 3,000 miles away from me. Boo Hoo!

Oh this is a fun technique. I have done this with another teacher and it was so much fun. You will have a great time in this class. And it is messy but I love the outcome. Way too cool.
I LIVE SO FAR AWAY!!! WAHHHH
Grrr....she needs to do an on-line class! Love this look!
There are days when I LOVE living isolated in the boonies. And then I read stuff like this and there are days when I HATE living in the boonies:)hehehe
