Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Lezlei flew in from Texas on Thursday night, but she didn't stay with me this time.  She didn't get to see her other good friend the last couple of trips here, so she decided it was time to do so.  And since Southern California is so daggone spread out, it isn't like a hop skip and a jump to get everywhere.  So after work on Friday I met her half way and we had dinner together at Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ in Brea.
Nice seeing you Lezlei!  Safe travels back to Texas on Monday.  Love you.

Saturday I got up at the break of dawn (nothing new there!) and did a load of laundry, baked some chicken breasts for chicken salad and sandwiches for lunch at work, made a few artist trading cards, went to the Post Office and mailed etsy orders and prizes to my Blog Give-Away winners last week, stopped at Friends of the Library and then came back home and watched some of the programs I recorded on the dvr over the past week.

My friend Linda Bucci e-mailed me Saturday night and asked if I wanted to meet her at the Jonestown Flea Market in Tustin this morning.  Of course I replied with an affirmative answer.

So this morning at 8:30am we were walking around across the street here . . .
We both picked up some really good little deals today.  This is my one "big ticket item" I purchased.  A whopping $10 for this little vintage beauty! . . .
And here's a closeup of my "new wheels".  LOVE that they are turquoise! . . .
Cool huh?  I just love my new cart!  Now I need to figure out how I'm going to glam it up some.  I know I want to line it with some kind of fabric that I can wash.  I LOVE burlap, but I know that's probably not practical.  Any ideas?

We walked the flea market twice (didn't want to miss anything)!  And then we stopped in Whimzy's (they also host the vintage flea market).  Had to say hello to my friend Sheryl.  I hadn't realized how long it had been since I had seen her . . . YIKES - where DOES the time go?  Here's Sheryl (before she spotted me) putting together some postcards to send out for their upcoming Glitterfest Art Show & Sale May 22nd . . .
Here's some eye candy I snapped around the store today . . .
Looks like I must have been into the dolls and doll heads today *smiles*.

I was wearing one of my charm necklaces today and Sheryl asked if I would teach a class at her store.  Sending her some weekend dates to choose from and will let you know when it will be.  The maximum number of students is 6, so be sure to sign up quick when I post the date.

Stopped by Vintage Lady a few doors down and around the driveway from Whimzy to look around.  This is what greeted us as we stepped out into the back garden . . .
And after all this walking and talking and everything, we crossed the street and had lunch at Quinn's Old Town Grill.  And yes, their wonderful bloody mary's were DEFINITELY on our menu *smiles* . . .
The day is too beautiful to be sitting in front of this computer screen, so ta ta for now!  And you be sure to have yourself an art-filled week ahead!!

What great finds, great food (and drink, he he) and great friends! Life doesn't get any better, does it? How about some colorwashed muslin inside that basket? You could put some Zentangles on the muslin...somehow. Cool.
