One Fine Sunday in Old Town Tustin Today

Bright and early this morning, I met my friend Linda Bucci for a morning of shopping at the Jamestown Village Vintage Fleamarket in Old Town Tustin (parking lot of Whimzy). We both got some really good buys today!

Rose from The Tarnished Crown was at the vintage flea market today, selling her fabulous monogrammed and crown stamped pillow covers. I didn't purchase any of them today, but look what I DID purchase . . . from her young daughter, Ally - isn't she a sweetie? This is the very first bag that Ally ever made. Love the print and LOVE the wide burlap strap! And love it even MORE that Ally made it :)

Thank you Ally! (That's Rose (her mom) with the sunglasses on behind her)

These are some of my other finds today . . .

Loved the label on this bottle . . .

vintage brown sandwich bags . . .

These monkey ornaments caught my eye. Thought I would list them in my etsy or artfire shops. If you're "into monkeys" and want first dibs on these, just let me know, and I'll give you a "blogger buddy discount" . . .

picked up these two bracelets and funky pink pin . . .

Some drawer pulls . . .

some lace and a rusty piece . . .

and of COURSE I couldn't pass up this vintage train case! . . .

I ran into and met Lidy from The Little French Garden House at the flea market today as well. Nice meeting you Lidy!

Ohhh, and Linda and I ran into Barbara (another art buddy). Barbara was rolling a tote that I (and Linda too) just HAVE to Have! Not only was it a rolling tote with lots of space to put found goodies in, but it had a fold out CHAIR!! Oh yeah, GOTTA get one of those.

This isn't exactly like the one that Barbara was toting around, but I found this one on Amazon for $26.77.

Hey Linda, I bet you didn't see me snapping this photo of you pondering over whether or not you should buy that cart for your rubberstamps. LOL !

And by the way, Linda bought the cart! *smiles*

After shopping at the flea market, we stopped in Whimzy's. I always like to pop in and say "hey" to Sheryl.

The store was really busy this morning, so we didn't get to talk as long as we usually do. Sheryl and her sister have been busy getting ready for their upcoming event - Glitterfest, which is on Saturday, May 16th. I won't be vending at the event this time, but I will be there as a customer :) Hope to see some of YOU there as well!

Linda's birthday was April 11th, and since Lezlei was here from Texas visiting with me, I didn't get to see Linda to celebrate until today. I took Linda to Quinn's Old Time Grill for lunch.

We started out with Quinn's Bloody Mary's ummmmmmmmmmmm . . .

This is what we had for lunch. Linda had the ceasar salad with filet mignon and I had the chicken salad on squaw bread and sweet potato fries . . .

Time for another bloody mary! . . .
As if there was room for anything else . . .
Happy Belated Birthday Linda!

What a lovely day I had today. I'm off to a good start on my vacation from "the day job"! *smiles*

Monday I have another appointment *sigh* at a doctor's office. Having a cystoscopy in the morning, but after that . . . it's back to vacation mode!

Hi Sherry:
I have been meaning to come and say HI to you for a long time. I missed your class at Gilding the Lily a while back : ( I had seen a mannequin (coffee filters were involved) you created in a Somerset magazine and was talking about it to Nancy and she said "I know her" Well, I almost melted : ) One day I will be able to be in the right place at the right time so I can meet you.
I am having a Give Away...come visit.
peace

Rose is very new to blogging, so I thought I would post her comment she sent me via e-mail for her:

Hi Sherry, I couldn't figure out how to post a comment on your site...sorry, so new to this blog world, so I wanted to send you a quick note.

Thanks so much for featuring Ally on your blog. So cute! Can't wait to show her and her sewing teacher!

Please stop by and say hello if you're at Irvine or Tustin Flea Marketing!

PS...how did I miss those wonderful drawer pulls that you got at Tustin!

All the best,
Rose Carey
