Happy Birthday to Me

Today I am 55 years young! How will I spend the day? I've opted not to do any housework or cooking today. I thought I would just treat myself to a day of art at home. I'm working on an "Art Partner Challenge" on one of the art yahoo groups I belong to. Inka from www.inkastamps.com is sponsoring the challenge.

Inka sent 10 of us a rubberstamp, an embellishment and a piece of folded cardstock. The challenge is to use all three pieces to create a card. We can use other embellishments as well. I love the stamp that she sent us and have inked it up and stamped it several times on blank cardstock to start getting some ideas on how I am going to proceed. I just love these art challenges!

I will post a photo of my finished card before the 25th (when it's due!)

Ok, here it is. Although the photo doesn't really look like the actual card. It's in 2-d, and I guess not having a lot of knowledge about taking dimensional photos, I don't know how to capture the "2-d-ness" if you know what I mean. Anyway, here are a few photos of the finished card:

Happy Birthday. I turned 51 on the third. That makes us generational peers. Sounds like a great way to celebrate your birthday.

Thank you Judy. I had quite the challenge trying to figure out what to do with that metal flower-looking embellishment! LOL
