School for Wives and Mothers

I wonder what was written in those text books at Joanna P. Moore's Training School For Wives and Mothers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana?

Photo taken in 1888
Inspired (again) by K C Willis in Jill Haglund's book Creating with Fabric, I have created this 8" x 7" wall hanging in tribute to the women above.

I attached a rusty twisted wire so the piece can be hung on the wall or from a cabinet knob. The wire can be cut loose if you'd like to use this collaged piece as a pillow front, to cover a journal, in a quilt, or maybe even frame it.

The fabric, lace and even the buttoned flower has been coffee-stained for this piece.
You can find it HERE in my etsy shop. And if you purchase it today before midnight, the 20% off sale will apply!

I'm having sooooo much fun with tearing fabrics, coffee-staining and sewing *smiles*. Hoping you're having fun today as well!
